Today people still suffer from stigma based on many different group memberships: African Americans and Latinos are negatively stereotyped in the intellectual domain, women are negatively stereotyped in the math domain, and those who are mentally ill suffer from more global devaluation. The book provides a snapshot of the latest theoretical and empirical work on social psychological approaches to stigma and group inequality.
