In this volume a particular focus is provided by the several thousands of inscriptions from Ephesus which were published in collected form between 1979 and 1984. Translations are included, together with discussion on points of historical and philological interest relating to the New Testament or to the early history of Christianity. A Judaica section is also included, and the book provides a source of evidence for many aspects of life in the ancient world.
