An introduction to the theory and practice of causal mapping, a technique for revealing strategic options and goals to figure out what's going on, what needs to happen, and how to get there. It's written for leaders and managers who, the authors write, could use help figuring out how to create the future they want in their job, organization, life, or community, working either alone or in partnership with others. The technique is based on personal construct theory in psychology, sense-making theory in psychology and social psychology, social construction theory in sociology, constructivism in education, and the four authors' own work in strategic management.
