Prior to last week, I had never set up a website or blog. So, I had absolutely no experience with advertising or ad servers. After reading everything I could find, I discovered Openx and tried to download it to the site that I was creating. I could not even get through the installation and was frustrated at every turn - and getting no help from the forums. I found 'OpenX Ad Server: Beginner's Guide' online and purchased it just hoping to get Openx installed. Much to my surprise, thanks to that purchase, not only did I finally get OpenX installed successfully, but within the first hour after the installation, I was actually displaying ads on my site! To me, that was incredible. After a few more hours of reading and following the examples in the book, I can honestly say that I am comfortable using Openx. Openx makes delivering the ads much easier than I ever expected - and the book makes understanding Openx even easier.

The style of the book, using lots of screen shots and walking through each step with a brief explanation of what is being entering and why, is perfect for beginners - like me. But there are plenty of details about the various OpenX capabilities that I'm sure will be helpful to experienced users as well.
