In my work teaching ESL, I have had the opportunity to use this book (it is available at the center where I teach). The vocabulary is OK, but beware using the book if your students are from countries in which "democratic" values are not universally shared. The written examples take for granted that the learners share the redistributionist ethic of England, where the book is published.



This otherwise praiseworthy book is marred by the failure of the author(s) to take into account that not everyone grew up in -- or shares the values of -- England.
