Roger Buckley, The United States in the Asia-Pacific since 1945, traces the development of the Asia-Pacific region from the capitulation of Japan in 1945 to today. His perspective, very different from Cumings in Parallax Visions, is from that of the United States as the main player in the region since the end of the First World War. Buckley explores American policies through its relationship with the Soviet Union, China and, notably, with Japan during occupation and after. Buckley examines the topic from a geopolitical and military perspective.
