This series of books by Michael Scott is the kind you stay up all night reading! The first(The Alchemist) and the second(The Magician) book and the third each take place over a 2 day period of time. I am reading the third book, The sorceress, now and can't put it down. It follows the story of Nicholas and Perenelle Flamel and a pair of 15 year old twins who are racing against time to reclaim an ancient book that can save the world from horrors unimaginable! The Flamels happen to be Immortals who are centuries old and the twins are part of a prophecy in the ancient book. In the prophecy, it is the twins who can save or destroy the world as we know it.
