Having been exposed to Patient Safety/Quality initiatives in the past year (finishing my MS in nursing) I cannot recommend this book enough. It is clearly written. It is comprehensive in dealing with all the areas that those in pt safety are focusing on. Wachter uses great and shocking examples of real cases to illustrate his points. His research analysis and findings of the current research are "spot on." This is a "must read" for everyone: patients, health care workers, emerging health care managers, and prospective scientists in the area of health care safety/quality.
