I don't write reviews much here, but if you are serious (like tens of thousands of dollars serious) about building out a legit professional studio space, and you don't have tons of cash to throw around and hire lots of design professionals, this is your bible. Or, if you are a designer (in my case architect), this book is an incredible resource for very detailed constructions assemblies and methods of acoustic treatment and isolation. Whereas other books seem to generalize or just touch the surface of the logic and science behind various studio design/construction techniques, Newell gets way into the science behind it all. This is more of a dense textbook than a quick read, but you get what you pay for--500+ pages constituting a lifetime of knowledge--from my perspective that's the cheapest consultants fee ever!
