Health promotion practice has been fed by theory from a number of disciplines within the social sciences, including sociology, psychology, social policy and communication theory. Health Promotion assesses the contribution of these disciplines in forming a coherent body of theory that is specifically applied to health promotion. It brings together practitioners and academics from a wide range of specialties within health promotion and demonstrates how they are integrated in the practice of health promotion.
