Hiding the Elephant: How Magicians Invented the Impossible and Learned to Disappear
Jim Steinmeyer
This book provided me with an amazing journey through Steimeyer's world of mirrors and invisibility. The author masterfully conducts a symphony of anecdotes and scientific explanations of magical principles that builds the reader's acumen sufficiently so that they can better understand how Houdini could have made the elephant disappear. Although the book can at times seem confusing and lacking a logical flow (much like a symphony), you will soon realize that it is beautifully logical, and that the book is a glorious composition. This is a major 5-star read. I look forward to reading more of Steimeyer's works.
