I graduated from my Master some time ago and I borrowed this book from a local library to help me prepare for my job interviews which mostly include such kind of tests.



First, this book seemed fine. But after some time spend doing the exercises I got this really frustrated feeling and got angry sometimes even had to put it away! :)



Exercises are mainly well thought-through but sometimes the questions just dont make sense and make you say WTF to yourself. Some of them are too general or seem a bit unrealistic to be truly included in real tests.



This book also contains a lot of mistakes. I am like in 3/4 of it and so far I have found about 10-15 mistakes. I mean compared to the number of questions it is not a lot but I think this kind of book should be completely "mistakeless" otherwise it confuses you a lot and makes you spend a lot of time searching for the right answers.



Especially English grammar part contains a lot of mistakes where the author tries to make you believe that his explanations are correct. English is not my native language so I learned it from analytical point of view so I would say I know the rules very well not just by acquiring it from what I heard.



If you look at technical part, it contains a lot of question where you have to read it twice to get it. Also the the conditions (like what is happening to the temp during the process) are not described enough in the question for you to be able to answer that 100% correctly. The author makes mistakes like that one - he mixes concave and convex function.



Finally, if you look at the right answers int he back of the book. Some of them are just not understandable. I thought I was stupid but I made other people read it too and they too were confused and did not get it.



All to all this book is good just to get a general idea of what psychometric test are but there are much better organised and spotless books than this one. That is my personal opinion
