Web Standards Solutions: The Markup and Style Handbook, Special Edition
Dan Cederholm
I picked this book up not too long ago and just got done reading it. I am a web designer with a fair amount of knowledge of HTML, CSS, and web standards so I was familiar with a lot of the concepts. He does have some great nuggets and techniques to make things more accessible. Showing the different solutions to a problem and going over the pros and cons is a nice idea. I definitely picked up more than a few things with this book.
The only reason that I don't give it five stars is that I thought it was a little verbose when it came to explaining things. Some of the things could have been more concise. It wasn't that bad though. If you are have been doing web design for a while, you will find it redundant when he explains CSS properties after he just showed them in the code. Explaining subtleties in the code that are atypical is where the nuggets are. Good book over all. Good read.
