Neural tube defects (NTDs) are one of the most common birth defects, occurring in approximately one in 1,000 live births in the United States. Exploring the many clinical presentations of these conditions, this reference focuses on quality-of-life issues and extensively surveys the medical, educational, social, and psychological needs of the these patients.
