Veterinary Herbal Medicine
Susan G. Wynn DVM, Barbara Fougere BVSc BVMS(Hons)
My experience is that only quality books are published by Mosby as Mosby publishes college text books for the healthcare field. I have spent thousands of dollars with holistic and traditional veterinarians over the years-having some of my animals continue to be ill(auto-immune diseases and viruses are difficult).I have learned to educate myself and learn ways to keep my animals healthy through preventative care. Human grade or organic food has significantly made a difference as well as supplements. This book gives wonderful information regarding diseases and alternative herbs/supplements to use. I am careful,as not all herbs/supplements are safe in themselves and/or due to the harvesting country from which they come-this book gives a list of possible resources-most only available to the veterinarian, however, when I see a product from that resource on the shelf at the store or on-line I am comfortable trying it. This book was written for the professional and should be viewed as such. I recommend this book for enlightment of alternatives that may be available. I have seen many supplements at the "Health Food Store" for animals-this book has provided a reliable source for checking the ingredients purpose and safety.
