This book does provide some valuable information for those with a background in analytical areas of engineering or science and who have a desire and opportunity to become a manager and/or leader. However, for those who have already read a number of books on leadership and taken courses and workshops on the topic (as I have), there is not much new material. The reviews of previous writers are generally succinct and accurate. I was really looking for a book on moving from scientist to leader but there is very little written about that specific topic. So this was the closest thing I could find. Unfortunately, it did not meet my needs. However, I would definitely recommend this book to an engineer who is not already familiar with the existing literature and who is interested in becoming a manager and leader.
