Reworking Qualitative Data
Ms Janet Heaton
Heaton (social policy, University of York) explores how qualitative secondary analysis differs from other methodologies that involve the reuse of qualitative data and evidence, and reviews qualitative secondary studies drawn from the international health and social care literature. She finds that while secondary analysis does have the makings of a qualitative methodology, several epistemological, ethical, and methodological issues need to be addressed in future studies.
