To the 1996 edition, Kronenburg (U. of Liverpool) here adds the work of two new design teams and seven new case studies to help further define the relevant characteristics of the branch of contemporary building design. He has also revised and updated the original case studies and added a new introduction featuring the Millennium Dome in Cardiff, Wales, which owes its form, construction, and structural strategy to portable building precedents.
