Multifunctional Cosmetics

In light of a growing market for cosmetic products that claim more than one primary benefit, contributor from mostly American countries begin by setting out definitions and guidelines for multi-functional cosmetics. Then they describe on hair care products, emphasizing the popular two-in-one shampoos but also those that enhance or prolong color; skin care products such as shower gels and bath products that claim to cleanse and moisturize skin in one step, antiperspirants and deodorants that are also used to control body odor, and products that serve as both drugs and pharmaceuticals; and toothpaste formulations that claim to protect against cavities, tarter, plaque, and gingivitis while cleaning teeth.
