One of four volumes, each of which consists of reprinted chapters from the two-volume set , published in 1995. In some cases the authors have added a brief addendum to bring information up to date, and in other cases more recent references have been added. Following the listings of acronyms and crystal structure nomenclature, the 10 contributions discuss topics related to all metal-metal compounds (both ordered and disordered, binary and multicomponent) such as magnetic principles and applications; electrical and electronic behavior; semi and superconductor, optical, magneto-optical, and thermoelectric and electrical applications; magnetostriction; and diffusion barriers.
