Agglomeration as a phenomenon has been used by humans to form building materials since prehistoric. However, as a fully fledged technology it is only about 150 years old. It started in the 19th century as a means of recovering and re-using coal fines. In the past 40 years agglomeration has undergone massive growth. This book covers the fundamentals of the technology, and describes a number of agglomeration techniques, and in particular those applications that have been evolved in the past 40 years.
