After reviewing the potential benefits of the use of biobased industrial products over more commonly used petroleum benefits, this report examines the raw material resource base for products and explains the range of products and processing technologies available. Recommendations are provided as to how to effectively make the transition to biobased products, with discussions of providing sufficient investment and supportive infrastructure. Also included is a case study of lignocellulose-ethanol processing.
