Numerical problems and the computation needed to solve them tend to be separate disciplines, so that the party with the problem has no idea what the computation is actually doing, and the party who developed the computation is unclear about what exactly the problem is. Salleh, Bahrom Sanugi (both U. Teknologi Malaysia), Albert Y. Zomaya (U. of Sydney), and Stephen Olariu (Old Dominion U.) combine the two to help advanced undergraduate mathematics students acquire a seamless grasp of the whole process. They emphasize visualization to explain concepts, and focus on the problem and process rather than the detailed coding in the Microsoft software package.
