Characteristics are used in SAP as attributes, e.g. to specify theconfiguration of products or the properties of batches. In manyindustries - engineering, automotive, mill, pharmaceutical and foodsto name the most typical - supply chain planning has to considerthese characteristics. APO offers many different functionalities forplanning with characteristics, where each of the functionalities hassome prerequisites and incompatibilities. This book offers help andadvice for the basic design of the implementation by explaining theprocesses and scenarios (process chains) for planning withcharacteristics, the functionalities for planning withcharacteristics in APO including their prerequisites andincompatibilities and the entities, dependencies and systemconfiguration determinants for planning with characteristics in R/3and APO. This book is based on the releases R/3 4.7 and mySAP SCM4.1.
