Presents a collection of methods currently used for the study of assisted folding and assembly of proteins. Subjects include protein folding and assembly in a cell-free expression system, protein disulfide isomerase, disulfide bond catalysts in , purification of GroEL with low fluorescence background, chaperonins of various bacteria, mammalian cytosolic chaperonin, and molecular chaperones and their interactions investigated by analytical ultracentrifugal and other methodologies. Other topics include purification and properties of small heat shock proteins, BiP, and Hsp104 from yeast.
