There are so many books on InDesign CS4, so you do have choices when it comes to teaching yourself this program. I would recommend that you do NOT choose this book.



This book has a huge issue which just cannot be ignored in a book that costs $50.00. This issue is that the files on the DVD do not work. They were created with a pre-release version of InDesign CS4. Nowhere in the book does it tell you they have updated files on the accompanying website for the book (I figured it out and downloaded them). This is inexcusable as this is the main reason why I decided to pay so much for this book.



When I downloaded the files I had to place them in the different folders myself (it would have been nice to just beable to replace the entire set of folders). It also came with a note that said this issue was unexpected (but no apology).



To the publishers of this book: REPLACE THE DVD! This is not the only book on InDesign and for the next Adobe software package I'm going to learn, I will choose something else!
